Wellbeing Healthbank

As Head of Wellbeing I was part of establishing and the owner of the community Wellbeing Healthbank for all employees in 2022 - to create a safe platform in workplace wellbeing and mental health in Schibsted.

In connection with World Mental Health Day 10th October, we timely launched the global Wellbeing Healthbank for all employees in our Schibsted companies across all locations.

#wmhd is a chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.

The purpose was to create a common safe space across our cultures.

A community where the employees should feel safe and where you

could both invest in mental wealth and earn a daily profit from it.

Pilot program

"Helse & Prestasjon"

Juggling career, family, friends - and also having the time and energy to do what you want can be demanding. As in most companies, we want employees who perform well over time, and who enjoy the workplace so much that they help build a good culture and deliver good results.

From May 2022 we worked on developing a program that gives the employees an insight into what gives and takes energy, and how to manage their own energy over time.

In collaboration with SOGmental and Lars Christian Larssen - Coach, we launched a pilot for employees in Schibsted News Media. In the pilot, we have tested a concept that promoted better health and performance in various high-performance teams across News Media. The aim of the pilot was for us to build sustainable achievements over time.

Focus areas in the program:

  • How to build a good physical and mental "fitness"
  • The importance of sleep
  • Focus and concentration
  • Restitution
  • How to "Turn off and on" with quality.

Schibsted Life

I helped build the Schibsted Life concept from 2018 for employees in Norway.

And from 2019 I have lead the concept as “Life manager” next to my full time position in Norway. It is a low-threshold offer to the employees, driven by employee engagement - where the goal is to give you more energy in your everyday life and unity across Schibsted's companies.

Be it workout classes, running groups, motivational lectures, e-sport teams, football teams, Christmas workshops to social events.

From 2018 until today, it has grown to over 800 members in Norway alone and over 400 in Stockholm. The concept is run by the employees, where they come up with offers that are desired and with some criteria in place. Then we help support that with a budget and help promote it in our platforms.

In 2022, I held workshops in Oslo and Stockholm for employees across companies who together came up with how the concept could be raised a notch.

Today, an integrated app has been commissioned in Slack, where you can

easily get an overview of all activities and where you can filter by location

and by type of activity that is of you interests. The offer is for all employees

regardless of company in Schibsted.

Pilot project - Back to Office

From February 2021- March 2022 I was project lead for the pilot project,

Back to office in Grensen office in Oslo for Schibsted Data & Tech.

We worked towards ground-breaking and exciting solutions that

were tailored to our employees and the work culture they are part of.

Some of the success of this project was:

  • High user involvement to find good solutions and create belonging.
  • Focus on how dynamic solutions can create flexibility for future changes in needs.
  • Importance of communication along the way for good change processes and management.

The project received a lot of attention externally for the way we had proceeded.

Trivsel i en hybrid hverdag

In October 2022, I gave a lecture together with Anne Rein from CBRE for members of HR Norway. Participants where among others HR leaders from IKEA, DNV, Politiet, Bærum Kommune, UiO and DnB.

Here we presented and talked about how we at Schibsted had focused on the new everyday life after the pandemic for our employees. We quickly realized that we weren't going to go back to the way it was before. Therefore, projects were launched to jointly find a guideline for how we could work as best as possible in the new everyday life.

Here we presented on how to create conditions in the workplace that make your employees want to come there. Also on how to facilitate the work processes that your employees need to create value and how to work with culture and collaboration when employees are in different locations.

ReCharge

Schibsted Recharge was established during the first part of the pandemic. This was an offer during the winter of 2020, where we saw a decline in employee engagement.

Together with culture expert, Pellegrino Riccardi, we created together a motivational program where the main message was to talk about self-care in a difficult time. The program was live streamed once a week, and ran for 2 months.

At most we had almost a 1000 people watching the live stream.

This was a very popular and well received program. We received a lot of feedback that this had really helped at a time when many were alone and it created a kind of community. So we did a sequel on the concept in January 2022.

Interactive Christmas calendar

The annual Santa's workshop for employees and their families has been a very popular event in Schibsted in Oslo.

During the pandemic, we couldn't hold a physical event, so I then put together an interactive Christmas calendar instead. This is by far the most fun project I have worked with! There were over 400 registered participants and many of the videos were recorded at my home - this to give a holiday home vibe to the viewers of all the video hatches (luke).

We created a calendar web-app, where every day you received an SMS text that there was a new video with fun tips and a riddle you had to guess.

Your answer had to be submitted via the app and then everyone who got all the answers right was entered into a draw for a main prize at the end of the event.

The feedback was only positive!

Pilot Kids Coding Camp

I was one of the project leads in Oslo for interaction with setting up the first pilot Kids Coding Camp 2019.

Employees' kids/ nephew/niece/godchild/ friend's child participate in the kids coding camp in the last week of June. 5 days with 25 kids between 8-12 years. We had a application process with interviews for university students to study as teachers. In addition, there was a selection system and registration for all employees' children who signed up.

A structured and pedagogical teaching plan was set up for all 5 days, with a lot of learning in coding as well as social interaction.

At the end of the week, they all got to show off what they had programmed and received a diploma. Kids Coding Camp is still a very popular event in Schibsted and is now organized about 2-3 times a year.
